Interests
Below are some things I am really interested in, and causes I feel very passionately about. Check out the links to find out more information. Also, if there is an organization or a cause you feel passionately about and would like to share email: info@hayleysales.com with Interests in the subject line. I am hoping to have this page be interactive and am hoping to continually have new information churning around it, so please send me your thoughts. More to come soon.
Oceanic Preservation Society
An amazing organization set up by filmmakers, artists and scientists, working to protect our threatened oceans. They were involved in the making of The Cove. Check out some of the other things they are working on.

Australia Marine Conservation Society
Based out of Brisbane, Australia, AMCS has been working for over twenty years to protect the great barrier reef as well as Australia's endangered marine life. When my album is released in Australia, I plan on donating the proceeds from my song "Not in his Garden" to this organization, hoping to do what I can to help.
David Suzuki Foundation
What can I say? David Suzuki is one of the most amazing people out there. He's been fighting for the environment for decades and is still pressing on. His organization is based out of Vancouver B.C.
Child Haven
Before I signed with Universal Music, I was packing my bags about to head to India to volunteer at an orphanage. I was heading over there with Child Haven. Inspired by the ideals and philosophy of Ghandi, Child Haven has been a registered charity since 1985. The charity is run by Bonnie and Fred Cappuccino, a couple who over their long lives have adopted over 19 children.
Surfrider Foundation
A non-profit, grassroots organization founded in 1984 by a handful of visionary surfers in California, dedicated to "the protection and enjoyment of our world's oceans, waves and beaches."
Monterey Bay Aquarium and Research Institute
This past March, I drove down to MBARI to meet with marine biologist Dr. Judith Conners. The institute is on the cutting edge as far as oceanic research is concerned. I am hoping to go back down later this year, when I have some time, to volunteer and help out around the lab.
The Cove
If you haven't seen this movie, rent it and watch it. My eyes were literally glued to the screen and my jaw dropped open in amazement. We need to do something about the issues discussed in this documentary. It would be sick if we didn't. Killing whales and dolphins is illegal and completely wrong.
Ocean Conservancy
A non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of our oceans, believing that everything is connected to the oceans. If we ignorantly destroy the seas, we will be inevitably destroying ourselves.
Sharkwater
An incredible Canadian documentary by filmmaker Rob Stewart, which dives (quite literally) into the exploitation and corruption surrounding the world's shark populations. I found the film very interesting and the issue quite pressing. We tend to think of sharks as these blood thirsty monsters. This film reveals the "reality of sharks as pillars in the evolution of the seas." Rent it if you haven't already.
The Rooftop Gardens Project
A neat non-profit organization based in Montreal that is helping set up rooftop gardens so as to "reclaim unused areas of the city and transform them into productive green spaces that help contribute to urban ecology."
